Al Ahly finalise Yasser Ibrahim contract renewal with $288,000 signing bonus

Al Ahly have finalised the financial details for the contract renewal of defender Yasser Ibrahim following a period of negotiations.

The Egyptian giants were keen to keep Ibrahim at the club and have now settled the outstanding issues regarding his new contract, including his financial package and the additional bonus attached to the agreement.

Yasser Ibrahim will receive a $288,000 signing bonus, which is completely separate from the value of his basic contract.

The payment is being viewed as a gesture of appreciation from Al Ahly for Ibrahim’s continued commitment to the club and his decision to remain with the team despite previous uncertainty surrounding his future.

Yasser Ibrahim’s basic contract is reportedly worth approximately $479,000, while the $288,000 signing bonus is separate from his annual salary and is not included in the basic value of the contract.

The defender’s renewal comes after previous reports suggested that there had been a disagreement between the two parties over the value of the financial bonus or compensation requested by the player.

However, an agreement had already been reached regarding his annual salary, leaving the signing bonus as one of the key outstanding issues in the negotiations.

The latest development means that the financial aspect of the renewal has now been settled, with Ibrahim set to receive approximately $767,000 when the value of his basic contract and signing bonus are combined.

Al Ahly’s decision to retain Ibrahim also provides the club with additional stability in central defence as they prepare for a demanding period of the season.

The Cairo-based giants have faced concerns over injuries within their defensive department, making experienced options such as Ibrahim increasingly important to the technical staff.

The club have also continued to explore possible defensive reinforcements ahead of the upcoming January transfer window, but retaining Ibrahim ensures that the team will have an established option available in the heart of the defence.

Yasser Ibrahim is therefore expected to remain an important part of Al Ahly’s plans as the club competes on multiple fronts.
