Nadhir Ben Bouali’s participation in Algeria’s squad during the upcoming international break is in doubt because of a groin injury.
The Pyramids FC striker missed his side’s latest match and has also been ruled out of Thursday’s meeting with ENPPI in the fifth round of the Egyptian Premier League. The injury has prevented him from being considered by his club’s coaching staff.
Algerian newspaper Ennahar reported that Ben Bouali’s continued absence has increased the possibility that he will not join the national team’s training camp.
The 26-year-old is expected to undergo further medical examinations when he arrives in Algeria. Those tests will determine whether he is fit enough to be included in the squad for the country’s opening two matches in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Ben Bouali joined Pyramids FC to replace forward Fiston Mayele, who left the club at the end of last season.
He has made only two appearances for Pyramids FC since the start of the campaign, both coming as a substitute.
