Liverpool to host Chelsea in standout Carabao Cup fourth-round tie

Liverpool will host Chelsea in the headline tie of the Carabao Cup fourth round, while Premier League champions Arsenal have been drawn away to League Two side Fleetwood.

The meeting at Anfield will give both teams another demanding cup assignment after they progressed from difficult third-round matches.

Chelsea advanced after a nine-goal contest against Leeds, winning 6-3. Liverpool beat Tottenham 3-1, while Arsenal secured a 4-2 victory away at Ipswich.

There are two further all-Premier League ties in the draw. Everton will face Newcastle at home, while Sunderland have been paired with Brentford.

Fulham will meet Crystal Palace and Bournemouth will take on Aston Villa. Bradford City have been drawn against Peterborough in the other fixture confirmed by the draw.

The final place in the fourth round will be settled on Thursday night, when holders Manchester City host Norwich. The draw listing includes Manchester City against Norwich or Brighton.

Brighton were among the biggest winners of the third round after eliminating Manchester United at Old Trafford. They claimed a 3-2 victory to knock United out of the competition.

Peterborough were the only side to reach the next round through a penalty shootout. Their tie with Barnsley finished 3-3 before Peterborough won the shootout 7-6.

The fourth-round matches are scheduled to be played during the week commencing 26 October.
