Tchouameni and Valverde appear to end Real Madrid feud in public reconciliation

Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde have seemingly drawn a line under one of the most tense episodes in Real Madrid’s dressing room after returning to midfield together on Tuesday.

The pair were pictured embracing at the end of the match, congratulating one another after Real Madrid secured victory in the closing moments. The footage provides a public sign that their relationship has improved following months of distance.

The incident involving the two players occurred at Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training complex towards the end of last season. Their actions away from the pitch attracted greater attention than their performances on it after a confrontation reportedly lasted for two days.

It was alleged that Valverde fell during the dispute and suffered a head injury. Real Madrid subsequently opened disciplinary proceedings against both players and fined them €500,000 each.

The penalties were described as the biggest imposed by Real Madrid in recent times, underlining the club’s position that maintaining discipline was more important than any individual considerations.

Several months later, with tensions having eased while global attention focused on the World Cup, Tchouameni and Valverde started alongside one another in the centre of midfield on Tuesday.

Neither player attempted to dominate the game individually. Instead, both contributed to a generally composed team performance, with Arda Guler standing out for Real Madrid.

The significant moment involving the pair came after the final whistle. Having helped the team complete its late victory, Tchouameni and Valverde shared a warm embrace and acknowledged the work they had done.
