Rulani Mokwena has been recognised as the Egyptian Premier League’s Manager of the Month for August after making a perfect start to his time at Pyramids.
The South African took charge of the club following a brief spell with Al-Ittihad in Libya and has won all six of his matches since arriving.
Pyramids have made an impressive opening to their Egyptian Premier League campaign, recording four victories from four matches. They have also kept four clean sheets, including three during August.
Mokwena’s award was presented by the Egyptian Professional Footballers Association.
His team have also made progress in the CAF Champions League. Pyramids defeated Kenyan champions Gor Mahia 7-1 on aggregate in the first preliminary round to set up a second-round meeting with South Sudanese club EL Merriekh Bentiu.
The tie will determine which side reaches the group stages of the competition.
Pyramids return to domestic action on Thursday, when they face Enppi in the league. They currently occupy third place with 12 points from four matches, one point behind leaders Al Ahly, who have played one game fewer.
