Bara Sapoko Ndiaye’s Bayern progress earns praise from Kompany and Freund

Senegal midfielder Bara Sapoko Ndiaye continues to make strides at Bayern Munich, with the Bundesliga giants increasingly convinced they have secured one of Africa’s brightest young talents for the future.

The 18-year-old is seeking to establish himself in a Bayern midfield packed with experienced international stars, but the club’s decision to hand him a contract until 2031 underlines the confidence they have in his long-term development.

Ndiaye’s progress has not gone unnoticed by Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund, who believes the youngster is adapting well both on and off the pitch.

“We see him adapting better and better every week,” Freund told Bayern magazine 51. “He has quickly become a good part of the team.”

The midfielder’s rise has been remarkable. In little more than a year, Ndiaye has gone from youth football to earning a place in Senegal’s national team set-up, while also convincing one of Europe’s biggest clubs to invest heavily in his future.

Bayern coach Vincent Kompany has also been impressed by the teenager’s qualities, describing him as “a young talent who brings plenty of pace in midfield”.

That speed has become one of Ndiaye’s standout attributes. Bayern view him as a physically strong defensive midfielder who relishes challenges, covers large areas of the pitch and provides valuable protection in front of the defence.

His development, however, extends beyond his performances on matchdays.

The Senegalese youngster has been learning German as he settles into life in Munich and has benefited from the presence of French-speaking team-mates during his transition to a new country and culture.

Freund revealed that Bayern had monitored Ndiaye closely for an extended period before deciding to commit to a long-term deal, believing his growth and potential justified the investment.

With Bayern continuing to nurture his development and Senegal looking to build for the future, Ndiaye’s progress will be watched closely over the coming years as he seeks to establish himself at both club and international level.

For now, the signs are encouraging, with Bayern’s faith in the teenager reflected not only in their words but also in a contract that ties him to the German champions until 2031.
