Nour Alaa: Al Ittihad Alexandria targeting Egyptian Premier League top four

Nour Alaa says Al Ittihad Alexandria are aiming to finish in the Egyptian Premier League’s top four this season, rather than simply secure a place among the leading six.

Al Ittihad Alexandria strengthened their position with a 2-0 victory over Al Masry in the fifth round of the league. The result was their third successive win after they opened the campaign with a draw and a defeat.

Speaking to On Sport, Nour Alaa praised the work being done behind the scenes at the club.

“The coaching staff have put in a great deal of effort with us, and everyone at Al Ittihad is helping us to succeed,” he said.

“This season, we will not be satisfied with finishing only among the top six. We will compete for a place in the top four.”

The victory moved Al Ittihad Alexandria on to 10 points and into sixth place. They are level on goal difference with Zamalek and Modern Sport, who occupy fourth and fifth respectively.

Nour Alaa also thanked the club’s supporters for their continued backing.

“I would like to thank the Al Ittihad fans, who always support us and stand behind the team,” he added.

Al Masry remain on six points in 10th place after suffering a third consecutive league defeat.
