Barcelona consider Erling Haaland and Harry Kane as attacking options

Barcelona are monitoring two of the world’s leading strikers, with Erling Haaland and Harry Kane reportedly included among the club’s options for strengthening their attack.

According to Tribuna, Barcelona see 33-year-old Kane as a possible short-term alternative to Julian Alvarez, who remains their preferred long-term target. The Atletico Madrid forward has been identified as the club’s main objective for the future.

Kane’s contract with Bayern Munich expires next year, and discussions over an extension are currently taking place. Barcelona are following those talks closely and could consider a move for the England international if he decides not to remain with the German club.

The report says Barcelona made initial contact with Kane’s representatives last summer. However, those discussions did not lead to a formal approach or advanced negotiations over a transfer.

Haaland is also being considered by the Catalan club, although signing the Norway striker would be significantly more difficult. He is under contract with Manchester City until 2034, making a departure from the Etihad Stadium a complicated prospect.

Barcelona chose not to sign a first-choice striker during the summer transfer window after Atletico Madrid rejected the possibility of selling Alvarez. Instead, they opted for a lower-cost solution by bringing in Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus.

The club’s interest in Kane and Haaland comes as Raphinha has impressed while playing as a central striker this season. The Brazilian winger has scored eight goals and provided three assists in six matches.

Despite considering both Kane and Haaland, Barcelona continue to regard Alvarez as their principal long-term target. Kane is viewed as a potential alternative in the shorter term, while Haaland remains another name on the club’s list of players under consideration.
