Al Ain thrash Al Nassr 4-0 as Walid Al-Farraj calls defeat ‘heavy’

Saudi media personality Walid Al-Farraj described Al Nassr’s 4-0 defeat by Al Ain as “heavy” after the Saudi club endured a disastrous start to their AFC Champions League Elite campaign.

Al Nassr were beaten by their Emirati hosts in their opening group-stage match on Tuesday, with a poor defensive display contributing to a heavy loss.

Hussein Rahimi scored twice, in the 25th and 63rd minutes, before Sufian Rahimi added a third in the 72nd minute. Georgios Giakoumakis completed the scoring five minutes from time.

Reacting to the result in a post on X, Al-Farraj wrote: “Heavy… but hopefully it will be a shock followed by a quick remedy.”

The defeat continues a difficult period for Al Nassr, who have struggled with serious errors since the beginning of the season, particularly in defence and in goal. Those mistakes have led to significant frustration among the club’s supporters.

Al Nassr are third in the Saudi Roshn Saudi League standings, with 16 points from seven matches. They have won five games, drawn one and lost one.
