Sergej Milinkovic-Savic doubles Al Hilal’s lead against Al Gharafa

Al Hilal extended their advantage over Al Gharafa with a second goal in their AFC Champions League Elite match at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic headed home in the 73rd minute after meeting an excellent cross from team-mate Ruben Neves. The goal gave the Saudi side a 2-0 lead against their Qatari visitors.

The match graphic listed the goal as coming in the 72nd minute.

Neves had opened the scoring deep into first-half stoppage time, converting a penalty in the 45+3rd minute to put Al Hilal ahead.

The contest had already been marked by a confrontation between Al Hilal forward Cresencio Summerville and Ismael Bennacer of Al Gharafa in the 32nd minute. Bennacer was making his first appearance for the Qatari club.

The initial incident escalated into a wider clash involving players from both teams. The referee subsequently sent off both Summerville and Bennacer.
