Egyptian Football Association approves sports services company and 2038 development strategy

The Egyptian Football Association board has approved the creation of a sports services company and a digital transformation project designed to modernise the organisation’s technological services.

The board also endorsed the executive programme for the 2038 strategy, presented by FA technical director Shawky Gharib, during its regular meeting on Tuesday.

The digital project was presented by the association’s digital transformation adviser, engineer Moaz Mohamed Salah El-Din. It includes the computerisation of all technological services connected to the FA’s national-team plans, competitions, players and referees.

It will also establish links between clubs and players as part of a wider programme to accelerate the development of the association’s technological services. The board described the project as an ambitious long-term plan for Egyptian football and instructed secretary general Dr Mustafa Azzam to oversee the tender process.

Under the 2038 strategy, the competitions department will work on identifying the age groups for national competitions held between 2011 and 2038. The aim is to provide greater stability for competitions and youth levels supporting the strategy.

The programme will also involve selecting scouts and technical directors for FA branches and eight sectors across the country. Candidates will be former players or coaches holding A coaching licences.

The board further approved plans to develop coaches’ skills and renew their licences every three years.

National-team and tournament plans

The programmes for Egypt’s 2010 and 2009 national teams were approved through their participation in the specified World Cup and North Africa competitions.

The board also agreed on the formation of the organising committee for the North Africa tournament in Ismailia, which will take place from 21 September to 6 October. Mustafa Azzam will chair the committee, which will include employees from the association’s departments and the Ismailia branch.

In addition, the board was informed that the Ministry of Youth and Sports had approved the establishment of a sports services company affiliated with the Egyptian Football Association.

A committee made up of board members will now examine the economic feasibility of setting up the company.
