Zizo strikes in open play as Al Ahly forward reaches three league goals

Ahmed Zizo scored his third league goal of the season as Al Ahly began their match against Abu Qir Fertilizers at Cairo International Stadium with a 1-0 lead.

The forward opened the scoring in the fifth round of the competition, beating Abu Qir Fertilizers goalkeeper Mahmoud Abdel Rahim “Gennesh” with a finish after evading him.

The goal moved Zizo level at the top of the league’s scoring charts. He now has three goals, alongside Modern Sport’s Mahmoud Mamdouh and Al Qanah striker Mawuli Wayo of Ghana.

Zizo had previously scored twice against ENPPI and Al Mokawloon Al Arab this season. His goal against Abu Qir Fertilizers was his first from open play during the current campaign.

It was also Zizo’s first goal for Al Ahly since he scored twice against Pharco on 15 August 2025. The 8 goals he has scored for Al Ahly include five penalties.

Zizo has now recorded 18 goal contributions in 37 appearances for Al Ahly.

Moroccan forward Sofiane Benjedida created Al Ahly’s opener against Abu Qir Fertilizers. It was his second assist for the club, following the pass that set up Afsha’s goal against ENPPI in the opening round.

The latest goal means Zizo has scored Al Ahly’s first goal of the match while also strengthening his position among the leading scorers in the competition.
