Axel Taonsa in line for first Burkina Faso call-up

Axel Taonsa could be included in the Burkina Faso squad for the next international break after impressing for Swedish club Vasteras SK this season.

The 22-year-old attacking player has attracted attention with his performances in Sweden, including scoring twice in Vasteras SK’s match against Orgryte.

Swedish media reports suggest Taonsa is being considered by Burkina Faso manager Amir Abdou for the upcoming internationals. If selected, the player would make his first appearance in the Burkina Faso senior squad.

However, no call-up has been confirmed. Abdou is due to announce his squad on 17 September during a news conference.

Taonsa could therefore be among the new faces in the next Burkina Faso selection.
