Morocco U17 to face Algeria and Egypt in North African AFCON qualifiers

Morocco’s Under-17 side will face Algeria and Egypt among a series of demanding fixtures in the North African Football Union qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations Under-17 finals.

The qualifying tournament will be staged in Tunisia from 9 to 17 November 2026, with Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt competing for qualification.

The schedule was confirmed following Tuesday’s draw in preparation for the tournament, which will serve as the North African qualifying competition for the U17 AFCON finals.

Morocco begin against Algeria

Morocco will open their campaign against Algeria in what is expected to be an early test for the young Atlas Lions.

The first-round fixture will be played at the Ben Jannet Stadium in Monastir.

Morocco will then face another major North African opponent in their second match when they take on Egypt at the Olympic Stadium in Sousse.

Tunisia and Libya complete Morocco’s schedule

The Moroccan youngsters will meet hosts Tunisia in their third match of the competition, with that game also scheduled for the Olympic Stadium in Sousse.

Their fourth fixture will be against Libya at the Ben Jannet Stadium in Monastir.

Morocco will then be exempt from the fifth round of matches.

The qualifying tournament will therefore provide the Moroccan U17 team with a demanding test against four of North Africa’s leading football nations as they compete for a place at the Africa Cup of Nations Under-17 finals.

All matches will be played at either the Ben Jannet Stadium in Monastir or the Olympic Stadium in Sousse, according to the schedule established by Tuesday’s draw.
