Richarlison emerges as potential target for Shabab Al Ahli Dubai

TEAMtalk reports that Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison could move to Shabab Al Ahli Dubai in the coming days, with intermediaries working to find an agreement for the Brazil international.

Richarlison has fallen out of favour at Tottenham Hotspur and was left out of the club’s Premier League squad. Manager Roberto De Zerbi has also stated on more than one occasion that the 29-year-old is not part of his plans.

Shabab Al Ahli Dubai has now emerged as a possible destination for the striker, although discussions are still focused on finding a suitable structure for the deal.

One factor that could encourage Richarlison to join the Dubai club is the presence of Brazilian manager Andre Jardine. Richarlison worked with Jardine in the Brazil Olympic team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where Brazil won the gold medal and the forward finished as the tournament’s leading scorer.

Jardine became Shabab Al Ahli’s manager last June.

Richarlison’s proposed return to Brazil with Vasco da Gama fell through a few days ago after complications surrounding his registration with Tottenham Hotspur.

Reports said Vasco da Gama had reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur to sign the forward before Brazil’s transfer window closed. However, Richarlison was unable to reach an agreement over personal terms.

The Brazilian transfer window closed on Saturday, meaning Richarlison will not be able to return to his home country until the winter transfer window, should he still wish to do so.

The Brasileirao had represented Tottenham’s forward’s final opportunity to move after the summer transfer windows in Saudi Arabia, Portugal and Turkey had closed.

Richarlison has not played in Brazil since leaving Fluminense to join Watford in 2017. Since then, he has scored 90 goals and provided 34 assists in 327 appearances for Watford, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.
