Ajax linked with Mali-Ivorian midfielder Yves Bissouma

Mali-Ivorian midfielder Yves Bissouma, currently without a club, has been linked with a move to Ajax in the Eredivisie.

Bissouma became unattached on 1 July 2026 after leaving Tottenham Hotspur, where he spent four seasons following his £29.2m move from Brighton in 2022. The 30-year-old defensive midfielder is now valued at €10m.

The reported interest from Ajax would offer Bissouma a return to club football after his departure from Tottenham. He made 202 Premier League appearances during his career, scoring five goals and providing two assists.

Bissouma’s most recent club honour came with Tottenham, when he won the Europa League in the 2024-25 season. He joined the north London club after four seasons at Brighton, having previously played for Lille.

The midfielder’s career also includes 47 Ligue 1 appearances and European experience in the Champions League and Europa League. His record includes 10 Europa League appearances and three Champions League appearances.

No transfer has been confirmed, and the reported move remains at the rumour stage. Bissouma’s current status is unchanged: he is without a club after leaving Tottenham at the start of July.
