Rodrygo return target remains January as Real Madrid urge caution

Rodrygo is edging closer to a return for Real Madrid, but the club’s medical team is advising against rushing the Brazilian forward back into action and has recommended that he continue his rehabilitation programme until January.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, doctors believe Rodrygo should use the coming weeks to complete his recovery. His return to team training is expected in January, after the winter break, allowing him sufficient time to regain full fitness before resuming competitive football.

Rodrygo, however, is hoping to make his comeback sooner. The Brazil international wants to shorten his absence and return to Real Madrid at the earliest possible opportunity.

AS reports that Rodrygo is targeting a brief appearance in the Copa del Rey match on 16 December, provided his physical condition and medical progress allow it. That possibility will depend on how his rehabilitation develops over the coming weeks.

A full return is considered more likely during the Spanish Super Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Istanbul at the beginning of February. Real Madrid hope Rodrygo will have recovered his fitness by then and be ready to feature normally.

The forward has made clear progress and is continuing to advance through his rehabilitation programme, but caution remains the prevailing approach at Real Madrid.

The club does not want to risk bringing Rodrygo back before he is fully prepared. Its priority is to ensure he completes his recovery and to avoid a further setback that could delay his return for an even longer period.
