Fatih Terim emerges as leading candidate to replace Thomas Letsch at Al Shabab

Fatih Terim has been identified as the leading contender to become Al Shabab’s next manager after the Saudi club’s results declined under Thomas Letsch, according to reports in Saudi Arabia.

Al Shabab are considering dismissing the German coach because of the team’s recent performances. Turkish manager Terim is understood to be the club’s preferred option, partly because he has already managed Al Shabab.

However, Terim also has an offer from Al Taawoun and has not yet made a final decision, according to the Saudi website Al-Midan.

Terim has managed Galatasaray on several occasions during his career, as well as Milan, the Turkey national team and Al Shabab.

Hussein Ammouta is another name being considered by Al Shabab, although discussions involving the Moroccan manager and Al Ahly have not progressed to formal negotiations.

The possibility of Ammouta moving to Al Shabab remains at the stage of considering his name as a potential candidate, with no official talks having taken place either with the coach or Al Ahly’s management.

Ammouta’s contract with Al Ahly runs until the end of next season.

Before joining Al Ahly, Ammouta managed Qatari club Al Sadd and UAE side Al Jazira during his time working in the Gulf region.

He has overseen Al Ahly in four official league matches, guiding the team to three victories and one draw. The draw came against Al Mokawloon Al Arab.
