Ansgar Knauff returns to full Eintracht Frankfurt training
Ansgar Knauff has taken another important step toward returning for Eintracht Frankfurt after completing an entire team training session on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old had been sidelined by a muscle injury affecting the front of his thigh, but he is now back working fully with his teammates.
The update, reported by journalist Christopher Michel of Absolut Fussball, offers Frankfurt encouragement ahead of their Bundesliga meeting with SC Freiburg on Saturday. Knauff’s return to full training increases the possibility of a place in the matchday squad, although the club has yet to confirm whether he will be available.
The right winger had missed recent action while recovering from the injury. After completing the session without reported problems, he can now focus on rebuilding match fitness and competing for a starting role.
Frankfurt’s wider injury situation also appears to be improving. Ritsu Doan, who recently missed time because of illness, is expected to resume training on Wednesday.
Knauff’s availability would provide another attacking option for the coaching staff as Frankfurt prepare for Freiburg. The final decision will depend on his response to training and his physical condition before Saturday’s fixture.
