Camp Nou to host 2029 Champions League final as Munich gets 2028 showpiece

UEFA has confirmed the venues for the next four years of European finals, with Barcelona’s new Spotify Camp Nou selected to stage the 2029 Champions League final and Munich Football Arena awarded the 2028 event.

The decisions were taken by UEFA’s executive committee at a meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece.

The 2028 final will return to Bayern Munich’s home city, where Munich Football Arena will host the competition’s showpiece. It will be the first Champions League final there since the 2012 edition.

A year later, Spotify Camp Nou in Barcelona will stage its first European final in its renovated form. The new stadium is set to become the largest in Europe and will host the Champions League final for the first time since the historic 1999 final.

UEFA also confirmed the venues for the Europa League and UEFA Conference League finals.

The Europa League final will be held at the National Arena in Bucharest in 2028, before moving to the National Stadium of Serbia in Belgrade in 2029.

The 2028 UEFA Conference League final will take place at Juventus Stadium in Turin, with Puskas Arena in Budapest hosting the following year’s final.

The governing body also announced locations for finals in its women’s and other competitions.

The 2028 UEFA Women’s Champions League final will be played at Parc Olympique Lyonnais in Decines, Lyon, while the 2029 final will be held at the National Stadium of Wales in Cardiff.

The 2027 UEFA Super Cup will take place at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam. The 2028 edition has been awarded to Astana Arena in Astana, Kazakhstan, extending the reach of the fixture to a new location.

The 2027 UEFA Futsal Champions League final will be staged at the Biel/Bienne Arena in Switzerland.

The executive committee also approved changes to promotion and relegation in the UEFA Nations League for the 2026/2027 season.

The adjustment is intended to provide a smoother transition to the competition’s revised format, which was approved in May 2026. From the 2028/2029 season, the Nations League will move from four groups to three, with the aim of making the matches more competitive.

UEFA said its next executive committee meeting will be held in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on 7 December. The meeting will take place one day after the draw for the qualifying competition for UEFA Euro 2028, which will also be staged in Belfast.
