Cameroon star Carlos Baleba steps up recovery ahead of Manchester United debut

Cameroon international Carlos Baleba has stepped up his recovery from an ankle injury as he works towards making his Manchester United debut.

The midfielder has been pictured undertaking gym and pitch-based training at Carrington as he continues his rehabilitation from the injury suffered during pre-season with Brighton.

Baleba joined Manchester United from Brighton on 25 August for a reported €75.9m and signed a contract running until June 2031, with an option for a further year.

Baleba yet to make Manchester United debut

The Cameroon international has not featured for Michael Carrick’s side since completing his move to Old Trafford because of the ankle problem.

Baleba sustained the injury while still preparing for the season with Brighton, delaying his first appearance for his new club.

Recent reports suggest the 21-year-old is unlikely to make his United debut before October as he continues to regain full fitness.

His latest training pictures from Carrington indicate that his recovery is progressing, although the midfielder still has work to do before returning to competitive action.

The upcoming three-week international break could provide Baleba with valuable time to continue his rehabilitation and improve his physical condition.

Manchester United’s home fixture against Tottenham on 10 October has been identified as a possible date for Baleba’s first appearance for the club.
