Anass Salah-Eddine joins Panathinaikos on season-long loan from AS Roma

Anass Salah-Eddine has completed a move away from Italy after joining Panathinaikos on loan from AS Roma for the season.

The Greek club confirmed the arrival of the 24-year-old Morocco international left-back on Monday, following an agreement with AS Roma. The move, first revealed exclusively by Africafoot, includes a non-obligatory option for Panathinaikos to sign Salah-Eddine permanently at the end of the campaign.

The transfer gives the defender the opportunity to secure regular playing time and continue his development in a new league with one of Greek football’s historic clubs.

Salah-Eddine arrived in Athens on Saturday evening and quickly completed his medical examinations. He was then present at the OAKA on Sunday to watch Panathinaikos’ league match against Panetolikos, before the transfer was officially announced.

He can now turn his attention to beginning work with his new team and competing for a place in the side.

The Moroccan will wear the number 5 shirt at Panathinaikos. He will aim to establish himself in the Athens club’s system and use his experience to contribute to the team during his loan spell.

His move marks a new chapter after his time with AS Roma. Panathinaikos will have the opportunity to extend that relationship beyond the end of the season if they decide to exercise their purchase option.

Panathinaikos’ next fixture will be their fifth league match of the season, against Kalamata.
