Egyptian Premier League: Ceramica Cleopatra and National Bank of Egypt start Week 5 with early chances
Ceramica Cleopatra and National Bank of Egypt were level at 0-0 after the opening 10 minutes of their Egyptian Premier League Week 5 match.
National Bank of Egypt created the first opportunities from distance, with Ahmed Medbouli’s efforts both failing to trouble the goal. His first attempt was struck over the crossbar, while a later shot went wide.
Ceramica Cleopatra also tested the goalkeeper from outside the penalty area. Amr Qalawa’s effort drifted wide before Mohamed Reda Bobou attempted to take advantage of the goalkeeper’s advanced position with a shot from the halfway line. The ball cleared the crossbar.
Both sides spent periods exchanging passes in midfield as they looked to build attacks. Ceramica Cleopatra head coach Ali Maher was shown a yellow card for protesting against the referee.
The match began with neither team able to break the deadlock in the early stages.
