Stanley Nsoki returns to Union Berlin training after injury
Stanley Nsoki has resumed training with Union Berlin after spending two months sidelined by a calf muscle injury.
The French centre-back took part in Monday’s session, marking a positive step in his recovery and offering the club hope of added defensive depth in the coming weeks.
However, Nsoki’s return to team training does not mean he will immediately be available for competitive action. Union face Bayern Munich on Friday, but the 27-year-old’s place in the travelling squad remains uncertain after such a long absence.
The latest update suggests the club will take a cautious approach. According to dpa, Nsoki completed only parts of the session, as did fellow defender Marvin Friedrich. Both players are expected to become realistic squad options only after the next international break.
That timeline would rule Nsoki out of an immediate comeback against Bayern, allowing him further time to rebuild sharpness, fitness and confidence. Union will not want to risk a setback by accelerating his return before he is ready for the intensity of Bundesliga football.
For Nsoki, rejoining his teammates represents important progress after a frustrating injury layoff. He will now aim to complete full sessions consistently and put himself in contention for selection when Union resume their domestic campaign after the break.
