Spanish FA invites Mourinho, Flick and Simeone to major coaches’ meeting

Jose Mourinho, Hansi Flick and Diego Simeone have been invited to a Spanish Football Federation meeting at Ciudad del Futbol de Las Rozas on 22 September.

The event, organised by the federation’s technical committee for coaches, will bring together the managers of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico de Madrid in the Spanish capital.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the presence of Mourinho alongside Flick and Simeone could create a particularly notable image. Mourinho is Real Madrid’s new manager, while Flick leads Barcelona and Simeone remains in charge of Atletico de Madrid.

The meeting is part of the Spanish Football Federation’s regular annual gathering of professional football managers. It is scheduled to coincide with the next FIFA international break, which begins on Monday, 21 September.

All professional football managers are invited to attend, giving them an opportunity to discuss issues connected with their roles and responsibilities. The agenda includes concerns such as unpaid wages owed to dismissed managers, as well as other matters affecting their leadership positions within clubs.

Mourinho’s attendance would attract particular attention because of the current disagreement between Real Madrid and the Spanish Football Federation. That dispute led the former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham manager to boycott the most recent meetings.

It would also mark Mourinho’s first appearance at one of the federation’s gatherings of this kind. Such meetings were not common during his first spell in charge of Real Madrid.

Flick and Simeone, however, have already attended similar events. The German manager at Barcelona and the Argentine coach of Atletico de Madrid have previously taken part in meetings organised for professional coaches.

Mourinho’s predecessors at Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti and Xabi Alonso, also attended comparable meetings, despite his decision to stay away from the latest sessions.
