Mohamed Al Ghazi will referee Al Ahly’s Egyptian Premier League meeting with Abu Qir Fertilizers on Tuesday, after the Football Association’s referees committee announced its appointments.
The match will be played at Cairo Stadium at 20:00 as part of the fifth round of the league.
Al Ghazi will be assisted by Youssef Al-Basati and Sherif Abdullah, while Mohamed Ayman has been appointed fourth official. Mostafa El-Shehdy will oversee the video assistant referee system, with Osama Abdel Latif serving as his assistant.
Al Ghazi took charge of two Al Ahly matches last season. The first was their sixth-round fixture against ENPPI, which ended in a 1-1 draw, while the second was the meeting with Al Mokawloon Al Arab in round 21, when Al Ahly won 3-1.
He has refereed three matches during the current campaign: Al Masry against Smouha, National Bank of Egypt against Zamalek, and the match involving Ghazl El Mahalla and Eastern Company ENPPI.
Al Ahly are third in the table with 10 points, level with Zamalek. Zamalek occupy second place because of their superior goal difference.
Abu Qir Fertilizers are 16th with three points.
Elsewhere on Tuesday, Mahmoud Wafa will referee Al Masry’s match against Al Ittihad Alexandria, which will also kick off at 20:00.
The fixture will take place at New Suez Stadium and is part of the same fifth round of the competition.
Wafa’s assistants will be Hany Khairy and Ahmed Abdel Moneim Shaaban, with Ahmed Maged appointed as fourth official. Amin Omar will be the video assistant referee, assisted by Haitham El-Sherif.
Al Masry are ninth in the standings on six points, while Al Ittihad Alexandria are seventh with seven points.
