Egypt Under-20s receive medical briefings ahead of North Africa tournament

The medical staff of Egypt’s 2007-born youth national team have delivered a series of briefings to players as preparations continue for the North Africa tournament, which serves as a qualifier for the Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana.

The sessions covered the medical preparations and procedures required before and during the competition. They were overseen by Haged Hany Al-Antabli, head of the national team’s medical staff, with Salah Ashour, a physiotherapy consultant, and Mohamed El-Sayed, the rehabilitation specialist, also involved.

Egypt’s youth team are continuing their daily training at the National Teams Centre under head coach Wael Riad. The squad are preparing for the North Africa tournament, which will be held in Ismailia next week and will determine qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana.

Goalkeeping coach Mohamed Abdel Monsef is leading the goalkeepers’ sessions, where competition for places has been intense as the players seek to earn the confidence of the coaching staff.

Riad has also been holding daily meetings with the squad to underline the importance of the tournament and the need to win every match.

The administrative staff, led by team director Mahmoud Harb and team administrator Mohamed Shobeir, have completed all arrangements for the team’s training camp in Ismailia, which is scheduled to begin at the start of next week.

Before Sunday’s training session, Egyptian Football Association technical director Shawky Gharib met the players. He told them he had confidence in both the squad and the coaching staff led by Riad, and in their ability to achieve their objective while producing a performance that reflects the standing of Egyptian football.
