Benin defender Olivier Verdon joins Maccabi Netanya after Ludogorets exit

Benin international defender Olivier Verdon has completed a move to Israeli top-flight side Maccabi Netanya after ending his six-year spell with Bulgarian giants Ludogorets Razgrad.

The 30-year-old centre-back has quickly secured a new destination following his departure from Ludogorets, bringing an end to a successful chapter in Bulgaria and opening a fresh challenge in Israel.

Verdon has signed a two-year contract with Maccabi Netanya, with an option to extend the deal for an additional year. The agreement means the experienced defender is expected to remain with the Israeli club until June 2028, should the extension option be exercised.

The Benin international spent the last six seasons in the Bulgarian league, where he established himself as an important defensive figure and gained valuable experience competing at both domestic and European level.
