Bayern Munich not targeting Manchester City’s Rayan Cherki, reports say

Rayan Cherki’s impressive start to life at Manchester City has prompted growing speculation about his future, with a number of leading European clubs reportedly monitoring the France international.

The 23-year-old has made an immediate impression with Enzo Maresca’s side, displaying the technical quality that has quickly established him as one of the most noticeable players in Manchester City’s squad. Cherki joined the English club from French side Lyon.

Since moving to the Etihad Stadium, Cherki has shown an ability to influence matches through his close control, creativity and vision in the final third. His versatility has also allowed him to operate in more than one position, adding to his importance within the team.

Those performances have brought the Frenchman back into the spotlight and raised the possibility that major clubs could eventually make substantial offers for his services. That interest is expected to grow if Cherki continues to produce at the same level for Manchester City.

Recent reports suggested Bayern Munich could join the competition for the player, with the German club potentially considering a move for one of France’s most highly regarded young talents.

However, Spanish newspaper AS has reported that Cherki is not currently part of Bayern Munich’s transfer plans, despite speculation linking him with a move to the Bundesliga club.

The report says Bayern Munich are not planning to make a major signing during the upcoming winter transfer window. The club are also considered unlikely to pursue an expensive deal in January unless one of their players suffers a serious injury that forces them to revise their plans.

Cherki’s form at Manchester City has therefore attracted attention away from the pitch, but the reports indicate that Bayern Munich have no present intention of acting on that interest. Any change to the German club’s approach would depend on circumstances within its squad, particularly the possibility of a significant injury.
