Ovie Ejaria has announced that he is a free agent and is looking for a new club after his contract with Real Oviedo ended.
The 28-year-old midfielder made the unusual move of using his professional LinkedIn profile to seek the next opportunity in his career.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Ejaria posted a direct message on the platform which read: “Free agent (midfielder) London. I am currently a free agent and looking for the right opportunity.”
The statement makes clear that the former Liverpool player is available to join a new club and is actively seeking a chance to revive his professional career.
Ejaria began his development in the Arsenal academy before moving to Liverpool. He made his first-team debut for the Reds under German manager Jurgen Klopp, having been regarded as a midfielder with considerable potential.
The London-born player has since experienced spells with several clubs, including Rangers and Sunderland. He also spent an important period of his career with Reading before moving to Real Oviedo last summer in search of a fresh opportunity in Spain.
His time with the Asturias club has now come to an end, leaving him without a team and available in the transfer market.
Ejaria’s decision to advertise his availability on LinkedIn reflects his desire to find a club willing to give him the platform to rebuild a career which began at Liverpool with high expectations.
