CAF Confederation Cup: Primeiro de Agosto and Vitesse progress as Hafia FC match is abandoned

Primeiro de Agosto and Vitesse secured their places in the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup on Friday, 11 September, while the meeting between Hafia FC and AS Douanes was not played.

Three second-leg matches in the first preliminary round had been scheduled, but only two produced results.

In Luanda, Primeiro de Agosto beat Green Mamba 2-0. The Angolan side had won by the same score in the first leg in Eswatini, completing a 4-0 aggregate victory and advancing in the competition.

Vitesse also progressed after drawing 0-0 with Real Bamako in Bamako. Having won the first leg 2-1, Vitesse went through with a 2-1 aggregate success.

The third fixture, between Hafia FC and AS Douanes, did not take place at the Stade du 28-Septembre in Conakry. AS Douanes failed to appear, although the referees and officials appointed by the CAF were present.

The CAF has been informed of the situation and must now determine the regulatory consequences. The first leg in Nouakchott had ended in a 2-2 draw.
