Marmoush confident Tottenham results will improve under De Zerbi

Omar Marmoush says Tottenham’s results will improve once the squad better understands manager De Zerbi’s demands and develops greater consistency as a team.

The Egypt international joined Tottenham on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season, with an obligation for the deal to become permanent.

Marmoush said he had quickly settled into life at the club despite arriving only a few weeks ago.

“The atmosphere at Tottenham is excellent,” he told beIN Sports. “From the first day, the welcome I received was fantastic. I have only been here for a few weeks, but I feel as though I have been here for a long time. Everyone made me feel very welcome.”

Tottenham are 17th in the English Premier League after three matches, having suffered two defeats and drawn once.

Marmoush has played in two of those games, against Newcastle and Nottingham Forest, but has yet to score.

The 27-year-old said the squad and the club were united in their ambition to build for the future.

“We all want to build something special,” he added. “The club wants to build something great, and every one of us wants to contribute to this project.”

Tottenham host Everton on Saturday in the fourth round of the English Premier League, with Marmoush hopeful the team’s work will soon produce its first win.

“The victories will come when we understand better what the manager, De Zerbi, wants from us, and when we improve and become more cohesive as a team,” he said. “I think it will be great.”
