Al Ahly defender Yasser Ibrahim has started a rehabilitation programme after suffering an ankle sprain, with his availability for Tuesday’s match against Abu Qir Fertilizers in doubt.
Ibrahim was injured in the closing stages of Al Ahly’s 1-1 draw with Al Mokawloon Al Arab.
“Yasser Ibrahim has started his treatment programme and is undergoing intensive therapy after suffering an ankle sprain,” a source at Al Ahly told FilGoal.com.
The source added: “It will be difficult for him to be fit for the match against Abu Qir Fertilizers. The length of his absence will be determined by the progress of his treatment programme and the extent of his improvement.”
Al Ahly will face Abu Qir Fertilizers next Tuesday in the fifth round of the league.
The draw with Al Mokawloon Al Arab ended Al Ahly’s perfect start to the league season. They took one point from the match to move to 10 points, level with Zamalek.
Al Mokawloon Al Arab moved to four points and sit 13th in the table.
The result also left Pyramids alone at the top of the league with 12 points.
