Newcastle United and Aston Villa monitor Rennes forward Yassir Zabiri

Yassir Zabiri has emerged as a potential target for Newcastle United and Aston Villa, with both Premier League clubs monitoring the Morocco striker’s progress at Racing Santander.

The 21-year-old is currently playing in Spain on loan from Stade Rennais and has recently strengthened his case with an impressive hat-trick. His performance is understood to have attracted the attention of scouts from both English clubs.

Newcastle United and Aston Villa are continuing to assess Zabiri as they consider whether to make a move for the forward. His form in Spain could increase interest in the coming period, although neither club has yet made a formal approach.
