FIFA has rejected the request from the French Football Federation (FFF) to extend the international sanction on former PSG sports director Leonardo. The FFF’s request was denied, and FIFA aligned itself with the decision of the Paris administrative court dated October 4, which suspended Leonardo’s sanction. The former PSG sports director had been suspended until June 30, 2014, following an incident involving referee Alexandre Castro during the PSG-Valenciennes match on May 5. Leonardo’s lawyer expressed that the Brazilian feels completely liberated by the decision. The FFF retains the right to refer the matter to the Council of State and may refuse to grant a license to Leonardo if he requests it.
