Santos forward Jihad El-Adawy has been called up by Egypt Under-17s for the first time.
The striker has been selected for the squad led by head coach Abd El-Sattar Sabry, with Egypt preparing for the North Africa qualifiers in Tunisia.
El-Adawy plays as a forward and previously represented Sao Paulo and Corinthians before joining Santos.
In an earlier interview with FilGoal.com, El-Adawy said: “I will join Egypt without hesitation or waiting for an opportunity with Brazil’s national team.”
Egypt’s 2010-born squad is continuing its training programme ahead of the North Africa qualifiers, which will be hosted by Tunisia from 21 September to 2 October. The tournament will determine qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
