Santos have reached an agreement to sign former Vasco da Gama midfielder Philippe Coutinho on a free transfer, according to Brazilian media.
The 34-year-old is expected to join Santos until the end of the year, in a deal lasting three months. Globo reports that the agreement between the player and the club is complete.
Coutinho is due to undergo a medical on Tuesday before the move can be officially announced.
The former Brazil international terminated his contract with Vasco da Gama in February for psychological reasons. He is currently a free agent.
If the transfer is completed, Coutinho will link up with his friend Neymar at Santos.
Santos would become the first Brazilian club, apart from Vasco da Gama, to have Coutinho wear its shirt. He spent the 2024-25 season with Vasco da Gama, making seven appearances, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
