Egyptian outfit Ghazl El Mahalla reach agreement to appoint Tamer Mostafa as new head coach

Ghazl El Mahalla have reached an agreement with Tamer Mostafa to take charge of the team following the departure of Ahmed Khattab.

Led by president Walid Khalil, the Egytpian Premier League side has finalized the agreement with Mostafa as they moved swiftly to find a replacement after Khattab was relieved of his duties.

Ghazl El Mahalla had earlier announced the dismissal of Khattab and his coaching staff following a poor start to the Egyptian Premier League campaign.

The decision came after the club suffered a 3-1 defeat to Al Ahly Bank in the fourth round of the Egyptian top flight.

Khattab’s side endured a difficult opening to the season, managing just one draw from four league matches while suffering three defeats.

With the club looking to turn its fortunes around, Mostafa has now signed his contract to become the new head coach.

Mostafa is expected to lead his first training session on Friday as preparations begin for Ghazl El Mahalla’s crucial upcoming league encounter against Zamalek.

The new coach will therefore have limited time to work with his players before facing one of the Egyptian Premier League’s biggest clubs, with the immediate priority being to halt the team’s poor run of results and steer the side away from further trouble.

His appointment marks a fresh start for Ghazl El Mahalla, who will be hoping the coaching change can provide the spark needed to revive their campaign.
