Manchester United name Benjamin Sesko to lead attack against Sabah FK as Marcus Rashford benched
Manchester United will begin their 2026-27 Champions League league-phase campaign with Benjamin Sesko leading the attack against Azerbaijani side Sabah FK.
The match starts at 22:00 Cairo time at Old Trafford, Manchester United’s home ground.
Marcus Rashford has been named among the substitutes after starting Manchester United’s previous Premier League match against Everton.
Senne Lammens starts in goal, with Patrick Dorgu, Leny Yoro, Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui forming the defence.
Bruno Fernandes, Youri Tielemans and Kobbie Mainoo make up the midfield, while Brayan Mbeumo, Sesko and Matheus Cunha are selected in attack.
The match is the first for Manchester United under the Champions League’s league-phase format.
Sabah FK, meanwhile, are making their first appearance in the Champions League in the club’s history.
