Golden Arrows v Kaizer Chiefs moved from Durban to Mbombela

The Betway Premiership match between Golden Arrows and Kaizer Chiefs has been moved from King Zwelithini Stadium to Mbombela Stadium and will now take place a day later than planned.

The fixture was originally scheduled for Saturday, 19 September 2026, in Durban. It will instead be played in Nelspruit on Sunday, 20 September 2026, with kick-off at 15h00.

Lamontville Golden Arrows confirmed the change in a statement, saying it had been unable to find a suitable alternative venue in Durban.

“Lamontville Golden Arrows Football Club wishes to advise supporters and other stakeholders that our match against Kaizer Chiefs Football Club originally scheduled to take place in Durban on 19 September 2026 has been moved to Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Sunday, 20 Septeber 2026 at 15h00.”

The club said it had considered all available options before the decision was taken to relocate the match outside KwaZulu-Natal.

“The match therefore had to be relocated due to circumstances beyond the Club’s control,” the statement said.

Golden Arrows acknowledged the importance of the fixture and apologised to supporters affected by the venue change, particularly those based in Durban and surrounding areas who had expected to attend the match at King Zwelithini Stadium.

“The Club recognises that this is a highly anticipated fixture and sincerely apologies for the inconvenience caused by the relocation, particularly to supporters in Durban and the surrounding areas who were looking forward to attending the match.”

The change is the latest in a series of venue alterations affecting Premiership matches since the start of the season. Such moves have created difficulties for both clubs and supporters.

Fans in KwaZulu-Natal who had planned to attend the match will now have to travel to Nelspruit. The change will also affect supporters from other provinces who had arranged trips to Durban and must now revise their plans to visit Mbombela instead.
