Al Ahly’s Wael Gomaa says Amouta and Ali Mahmoud dispute is over

Al Ahly football director Wael Gomaa says the disagreement between manager Hussein Amouta and midfielder Ali Mahmoud during the match against Al Mokawloon Al Arab was resolved immediately and has not led to any further developments.

Amouta reacted angrily after Ali Mahmoud was substituted during Al Ahly’s 1-1 draw with Al Mokawloon Al Arab in the fourth round of the Egyptian Premier League.

“The incident between Hussein Amouta and Ali Mahmoud in the Al Mokawloon Al Arab match ended completely at the time, and there has been no development in the matter as has been reported,” Gomaa told FilGoal.com.

Gomaa added that Ali Mahmoud could feature when Al Ahly face Libya’s Ahly Benghazi in a friendly on the evening of the same day.

Al Ahly will use the match as preparation for their meeting with Abu Qir Fertilizers.

The draw with Al Mokawloon Al Arab was Al Ahly’s first setback of the season. The result left them with 10 points, level with Zamalek.

Al Mokawloon Al Arab moved on to four points and sit 13th in the table, while Pyramids moved clear at the top with 12 points.
