Ange Postecoglou says Al-Nassr must improve in several areas despite their 2-1 victory over Abha in the Saudi league.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Abdullah Al-Hamdan scored for Al-Nassr, while Nabil Fekir replied for the visitors in the sixth-round match.
“We controlled the game, but there are some aspects we need to improve in the matches ahead,” Postecoglou told reporters.
The Australian manager said his team’s limited squad meant they had to adapt their shape, but praised Ronaldo’s performance and his partnership with Al-Hamdan in attack.
“Our squad is limited in numbers, so it is natural that we change our shape,” he said. “But Ronaldo was excellent and formed a good partnership with Abdullah Al-Hamdan in attack.”
Postecoglou also stressed the importance of unity within the club as the season continues.
“We are a club working together under the conditions available to us,” he added. “We are a family and we will continue together.”
The victory was Al-Nassr’s fifth in six matches this season. They share top spot in the Saudi league with Al-Hilal, with both clubs on 15 points.
