Haissem Hassan creates first Celtic league goal in assist against St Johnstone

Haissem Hassan set up his first goal contribution for Celtic in the Scottish Premiership as they faced St Johnstone in a postponed fixture from the third round.

The 24-year-old winger provided the assist for Celtic’s opening goal in the 52nd minute, making a strong run before delivering a cross into the area.

His ball found team-mate Mika Power, who followed up by putting it into the net to give Celtic the breakthrough.

The assist was Hassan’s first involvement in a Celtic goal since joining the club during the summer transfer window. He moved to Scotland from Spanish side Real Oviedo.

Hassan has been named in the starting line-up for Celtic for the fourth consecutive match, underlining his growing role in the team.

Celtic travelled to face St Johnstone in the rearranged league match as they looked to strengthen their position at the top of the table. They began the fixture with 15 points, three clear of their nearest challengers Hearts, who had 12 points.

The result and the remainder of the match were significant for Celtic’s title position, with the leaders aiming to extend their advantage over Hearts.

Hassan’s contribution came shortly after half-time. Having advanced effectively, the winger created space to send a cross towards Power, who completed the move by finding the net.

The Egyptian player joined Celtic from Real Oviedo in the summer and has now started four matches in a row for the Scottish club. His latest appearance gave him another opportunity to establish himself in the Celtic side while competing for regular first-team involvement.
