Alexander Røssing-Lelesiit returns to partial HSV training

Alexander Røssing-Lelesiit has taken an important step toward a comeback for Hamburger SV after finally joining part of team training again on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old winger had been sidelined for months following another serious syndesmosis injury in May, just as he was nearing a return from the previous setback.

Until now, the Norwegian had been working individually, so this partial return to the group is a meaningful sign that his rehabilitation is moving in the right direction. Even so, he is still not ready for competitive action and will not be an option for HSV’s away match against RB Leipzig on Sunday.

The club will continue to manage his workload carefully, with the next stages of recovery likely to include more regular team sessions before any matchday involvement is considered. For a player whose progress has repeatedly been interrupted, simply getting back onto the training pitch with teammates is a welcome milestone.

Røssing-Lelesiit’s pace and attacking potential have made him an exciting prospect at Hamburg, and the coaching staff will be hopeful his latest recovery path stays on track. For now, patience remains the priority, but the worst of the layoff appears to be behind him.
