Egypt goalkeeper Abdelrahman Sherif joins Al-Shabab U21

Egyptian goalkeeper Abdelrahman Sherif has joined Al-Shabab U21, completing a move to the Saudi club after more than a year without a club.

The 20-year-old has signed a contract with Al-Shabab U21 until 30 June 2027. Sherif’s arrival was registered on 8 September 2026, marking his return to club football after leaving Al-Raed U19 in July 2025.

Sherif was born on 27 June 2006 and plays as a goalkeeper. His move places him within Al-Shabab’s under-21 set-up, where he will continue his career in the club’s youth structure.

The Egyptian previously represented Al-Raed U19 before departing at the end of July 2025. He then remained without a club until completing his switch to Al-Shabab U21 at the start of September 2026.

His move to Saudi Arabia represents the next step in a career that has so far been centred on youth football. At 20, Sherif joins an Al-Shabab side designed for developing young players, with his contract providing a defined period at the club through the end of the 2026-27 season.

The transfer also gives Sherif a new club after a period away from competitive football. His previous recorded team was Al-Raed U19, while his new destination is Al-Shabab U21.

Sherif’s nationality makes him one of the Egyptian players currently continuing their careers outside Egypt. He will now be part of Al-Shabab’s under-21 squad, taking up the goalkeeper position for the Saudi club.

Al-Shabab U21 have added Sherif to their squad on an agreement that runs until 30 June 2027.
