Moghreb Tetouan sign Tunisia left-back Ghofrane Naouali from ES Sahel
Tunisia left-back Ghofrane Naouali has joined Moroccan club Moghreb Tetouan from ES Sahel on a free transfer, completing a move from Ligue 1 to the Botola Pro Inwi.
The 27-year-old has signed a contract with Moghreb Tetouan running until 30 June 2028. Naouali, who is 1.85m tall and prefers his left foot, moves to Morocco after six years with ES Sahel’s senior side.
Naouali joined ES Sahel from the club’s under-21 team in October 2020 and went on to make 66 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring three goals and providing eight assists. He also featured in domestic play-off competition, the CAF Champions League, the CAF Confederation Cup and the Tunisian Cup.
His continental record includes 12 CAF Champions League appearances and one goal, while he scored once in nine Confederation Cup matches and once in six Tunisian Cup appearances. He also registered one assist in the Confederation Cup and one in the Ligue I Pro Playoff.
Naouali’s time with ES Sahel included a Tunisian championship triumph in the 2022-23 season. That title is the defender’s recorded senior honour after progressing into the first team from the club’s youth set-up.
The move gives Moghreb Tetouan a left-sided defender with experience in Tunisia’s top flight and African club competitions. Naouali’s arrival also marks his first recorded senior transfer outside Tunisia, with the player now switching to Moroccan football.
He leaves ES Sahel without a transfer fee, with his market value recorded at €250,000 at the time of the move. The deal was completed on 9 September 2026, when Moghreb Tetouan added the Tunisia international-listed defender to their squad.
Naouali has therefore ended his spell with ES Sahel and will remain under contract with Moghreb Tetouan through June 2028.
