Zamalek name Mohamed El Sayed in starting XI against Abu Qir Fertilizers

Zamalek have named Mohamed El Sayed in their starting line-up for their fourth-round league match against Abu Qir Fertilizers at Cairo International Stadium.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 20:00, with Zamalek manager Moataz Gamal making several changes to his team. Abdullah El Said is among the substitutes, while Mohamed Kaied and Mohamed Sobhi have been left out of the squad altogether.

Mehdi Soliman returns to the Zamalek goal, with Mohamed Awad dropping to the bench. The defensive line consists of Mahmoud Bentaig, Mahmoud Hamdy “El Wensh”, Mohamed Ismail and Omar Gaber.

In midfield, Mohamed Shehata, Ahmed Rabee and Mohamed El Sayed have been selected. The attacking trio is made up of Chico Banza, Hossam Ashraf and Adi Al-Dabbagh.

Zamalek’s starting XI is:

Goalkeeper: Mehdi Soliman

Defenders: Mahmoud Bentaig, Mahmoud Hamdy “El Wensh”, Mohamed Ismail, Omar Gaber

Midfielders: Mohamed Shehata, Ahmed Rabee, Mohamed El Sayed

Forwards: Chico Banza, Hossam Ashraf, Adi Al-Dabbagh

The substitutes are Mohamed Awad, Nasser منسي, Abdullah El Said, Ahmed Sherif, Ahmed Abdel Rahim “Esho”, Mostafa El Zanary, Mahmoud Gihad, Mohamed Ibrahim and Ahmed Khodary.

Mohamed El Sayed’s inclusion from the start is the main feature of the line-up, while the presence of Abdullah El Said among the substitutes means he will not begin the game on the pitch. Mohamed Awad also starts the match as a substitute after previously featuring in goal for Zamalek.

The squad announcement also confirmed that Mohamed Kaied and Mohamed Sobhi were not included for the fixture.

Zamalek arrive at the match having secured a 2-1 victory over Petrojet in the previous round. That result left them third in the table with seven points from one draw and two wins.

Abu Qir Fertilizers are 15th, with three points before the meeting at Cairo International Stadium. The game therefore gives Zamalek the opportunity to build on their recent victory and add to their points total, while Abu Qir Fertilizers will be looking to improve their position in the standings.

Gamal has opted for an attacking front three of Chico Banza, Hossam Ashraf and Adi Al-Dabbagh, supported by a midfield containing Mohamed Shehata, Ahmed Rabee and El Sayed. The selection also marks Soliman’s return between the posts, with Awad available as a replacement from the bench.
