A source close to Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan has revealed details of their meeting with the Egyptian Football Federation, chaired by Gamal Allam, to finalize the agreement on leading the national team in the upcoming period, succeeding Portuguese coach Roy Vitoria.
The source, speaking exclusively to “Al Masry Al Youm,” stated that the meeting with the twin brothers took place yesterday afternoon at the Egyptian Football Federation headquarters, in the presence of Gamal Allam and his deputy Khaled El Darandaly, with the notable absence of Hazem Emam and Mohamed Barakat.
The source confirmed that Hossam Hassan insisted on having his entire coaching staff join him in leading the national team, which includes Ibrahim Hassan as the Director of Football, Tarek Soliman as the General Coach, and Safwan El Sagheer as the Goalkeeping Coach.
Furthermore, the source indicated that the Hassan brothers agreed to the Egyptian Football Federation’s proposal to include Ahmed El Kaas in the coaching staff as the Assistant Coach alongside Tarek Soliman.
However, they outright rejected the idea of forming a coaching staff consisting of former stars from Al Ahly and Zamalek clubs.
The Egyptian Football Federation took the decision to dismiss the Portuguese coach Roy Vitoria after Egypt’s elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 in the round of 16 by the Democratic Republic of Congo.
