Driss El Jabali: Moroccan defender joins COD Meknes from MAS Fes

Morocco centre-back Driss El Jabali has joined COD Meknes from MAS Fes, completing a move between two Botola Pro Inwi clubs.

The 28-year-old defender made the switch on 7 September 2026 and will continue his career in Morocco’s top-flight football structure. El Jabali, who was born in Fes, stands at 1.87m and is predominantly right-footed.

His arrival gives COD Meknes an experienced central defender who has spent the past three seasons with MAS Fes. El Jabali joined MAS from Beni Mellal on 1 August 2023, having previously played for JS Massira, SCC Mohammedia and Wydad Fes.

El Jabali was part of the MAS Fes side that won the Moroccan championship in the 2025-26 season. It was the defender’s first recorded national league title, adding a major honour to a career built through a series of moves between Moroccan clubs.

He began his senior club career with Wydad Fes after progressing from WAF Reserve in 2017. Two years later, he moved to SCC Mohammedia before joining JS Massira in the 2021-22 season. His transfer to Beni Mellal followed in August 2022, before his spell at MAS Fes began the following year.

The move to COD Meknes represents the latest step in a career that has remained entirely within Moroccan football. Both the club El Jabali has left and the team he has joined compete in the Botola Pro Inwi, meaning the defender will remain in familiar domestic surroundings.

COD Meknes have registered El Jabali on a contract running until 30 June 2028.
