Sinayoko’s late penalty seals Paris FC win over Marseille

Paris FC claimed a 3-2 victory over Olympique de Marseille in Ligue 1 on Sunday as Mali international Lassine Sinayoko completed a hat-trick with an 86th-minute penalty.

The forward had already scored twice before his decisive spot-kick, twice putting Paris FC in front in a match that Olympique de Marseille levelled on two occasions through Amine Gouiri.

Sinayoko struck after only one minute to give the visitors an ideal start. Olympique de Marseille responded quickly, with Gouiri restoring parity in the eighth minute.

The match continued at a fast pace, and Sinayoko restored Paris FC’s advantage in the 19th minute. His second goal ensured the visitors went into the interval with a 2-1 lead.

Gouiri refused to let Olympique de Marseille fall behind again. He scored his second goal of the game in the 54th minute to make it 2-2 and set up a tense final period.

The decisive moment arrived four minutes before the end of normal time. Sinayoko converted from the penalty spot in the 86th minute to complete his treble and settle the contest in Paris FC’s favour.

The result gives Paris FC three valuable points from their trip to Marseille. Sinayoko’s contribution was central to the outcome, with all three of his side’s goals coming from the Mali international.

For Olympique de Marseille, the defeat represents another setback in Ligue 1. The club drops to 11th place in the standings after being beaten 3-2 at home.

Paris FC’s victory was shaped by its ability to respond each time Olympique de Marseille equalised. Sinayoko’s opener was cancelled out by Gouiri, and his second goal was followed by another equaliser from the Marseille forward after half-time.

However, the late penalty gave Paris FC the final word. It also made Sinayoko the clear difference between the teams, as his three goals secured a notable away win and prevented Olympique de Marseille from taking anything from the match.

The 3-2 scoreline leaves Paris FC returning from Marseille with the full reward, while Olympique de Marseille must regroup after a further defeat and a slide to 11th in the Ligue 1 table.
